Tropicalism occupies a privileged position in debates on contemporary Brazilian culture. In academic work and publications, its presence as a research subject is growing continuously. An increasing number of researchers are delving into the musical movement and its resulting effects on counterculture and the marginal culture of the 70s. Tropicalists and marginal artists acted in innovative and critical ways in cinema, the visual arts, fashion, theatre, literature and in society in general. Studying and writing about these issues, in a certain way, is to study and write about the Brazil in which we live today.
This dynamic space will bring together papers, articles and reports of researchers and students dedicated to any kind
of reflection on the Tropicalist movement and its consequences throughout the 70s. All contributions are welcome and
will be submitted to an editorial team for selection and publication.
We call on everyone to broaden the debate on Tropicalism, using this space as a billboard for the work being carried
out in academies, universities and post-graduate courses in Brazil and around the world.
Send your contribution. This is another channel to increase its visibility. |
